Helping Providers Stay Focused on Care, Not Red Tape

Advising on the business of healthcare so providers can keep serving their communities

Healthcare is complicated enough without trying to keep up with constantly changing regulations on your own. Whether you are building a compliance program from the ground up, responding to a federal audit or investigation by the Office for Civil Rights or another enforcement agency, or simply ensuring your policies and practices are up to date, I help healthcare providers stay compliant, confident, and focused on care.

I work with solo providers, group practices, and healthcare businesses to develop practical, tailored compliance strategies that work in the real world. My experience spans HIPAA and privacy (including 42 CFR Part 2 Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Treatment Records), Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare Conditions of Participation, documentation and coding, fraud and abuse laws, and internal compliance programs including policies, training, risk assessments, and compliance or privacy officer services. My approach is never one-size-fits-all; the guidance I provide is built around how your practice actually operates.

I offer both flat fee and hourly services designed for mission-driven healthcare organizations. Whether you need strategic guidance, policy development, or ongoing compliance support, I provide clear, practical advice that reduces risk without slowing your operations.

Having practiced healthcare compliance and privacy for many years within a public safety-net hospital, I understand firsthand how difficult it can be to operationalize rules written by agencies far removed from day-to-day patient care. Translating regulatory requirements into workable, efficient processes is my specialty. I don’t just explain what the rule says, I also help you comply with it while minimizing disruption to your practice.

You care deeply about your patients and your profession. I help ensure your compliance program is flexible, scalable, and built for the realities of healthcare delivery, so you can focus on care—not red tape.

Helping Veterans and Their Families Navigate the VA

My VA benefits practice focuses on helping veterans and their families navigate the VA benefits system. Whether you’re just starting to think about filing a claim or you’ve spent years fighting without a fair result, I’m here to help carry that load. I'm proudly accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to represent veterans at the VA, the Board of Veterans' Appeals, and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and I know how overwhelming this system can be.

Helping veterans is personal for me. My extended family's service spans all branches, but in my immediate family, my dad served active duty in the Marine Corps from 1956 to 1961, and my husband served in the Air Force from 1997 to 2001, continuing in the Reserves until 2006. I’m proud of their service, as well as the service of many other family members, and I use that pride and commitment as the fuel to break down the barriers that prevent veterans and their families from getting the benefits they’ve earned.

That commitment includes surviving spouses and children of veterans who gave it all to serve our country. Your spouse or parent made the ultimate sacrifice—and you shouldn’t have to navigate the VA maze alone. Whether you’re applying for Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC), survivors' pension, accessing other survivor benefits, or simply trying to figure out what you might be entitled to, I’ll be with you every step of the way. You’re not just a case to me—you’re part of the community I serve and I deeply care about.

We are ready to help you.
